Session 7:
Finding Your Unique Voice
Beyond Technique to Personal Expression
The final session focuses on developing your unique perspective and style within the impressionist genre.
Voice Discovery Exercises:
- The 100-Photo Challenge: Take 100 photos of the same subject in different ways. Your preferences will emerge naturally.
- Style Study: Analyse 10 impressionist photographers you admire. What draws you to their work? What would you do differently?
- Constraint Creativity: Limit yourself to one lens, one location, or one colour palette for a month.
Building Your Portfolio:
- Cohesive Collections: Group images by mood, colour, or theme rather than just subject matter
- Personal Projects: Develop long-term projects that reflect your interests and experiences
- Story Arcs: Create series that have a beginning, middle, and end
The Mid-Summer Promise: By the end of this masterclass, you’ll have:
- A portfolio of 20-30 strong impressionist images
- A clear understanding of your personal style
- Technical skills that serve your creative vision
- A sustainable practice for continued growth
