Creative Expressions

The Secrets of artistic close up images

Create Unforgettable Images with your camera!

Join me for a fun weekend workshop at Eden Garden in Auckland 2-3 March 2019.

Macro photography allows you to slow down and explore a whole amazing world full of colour, depth, and texture. If you are keen to master artistic macro photography quickly and painlessly, then this workshop is for you.

I will show you how to cultivate your artistic vision using selective focus, unexpected angles and depth of field to create imaginative, Impressionist-inspired shots. The colours, texture and visual rhythm present endless subject material for personal and artistic expression, and offers opportunities to truly flex your artistic muscles.

I will also invite you to delve into extension tubes and filters for an affordable way to master macro images, and navigate challenging lighting with ISO, aperture and shutter speed.

I will discuss the techniques behind my photographs and share the secrets behind my close-up and macro images.

A detailed PDF will be sent to you after registration.

The purpose of this workshop is to:
  • Help you to overcome and avoid the common difficulties that come with this type of photography
  • Help you to understand the importance of depth of field and how to control it
  • Help you to develop the macro photographer’s mindset
  • Help you to compose a photograph artfully
  • Provide you with instructions to ensure you capture the best images possible

Feedback from previous students:
"Moira and I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your workshop last week end. You have inspired us to ‘just do it’ and enjoy the journey. We felt our trip from Australia to Auckland was well worth it and would have no hesitation in recommending your workshops to our friends. The venue added to our enjoyment and certainly catered for our photography needs as well as our culinary. Having already taken one of your on-line courses it was great to meet you in person and we certainly learned heaps. Thanks again."-- Julie
"Thank you for a wonderful weekend! Your leadership style encouraged us to try new things, AND have such a lot of fun! I loved the fact that you took my requests seriously and showed us how to achieve all the techniques I was wanting to learn. It was a also fabulous venue and group!!"-- Robyn
"Thank you for a wonderful inspiring & fun weekend! It has to be the best workshop I’ve been to!!"-- Bev
